GUJCET 2022

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Education Board (GSEB) will be inviting the applications for admission in different engineering, technology and pharmacy courses offered by the colleges in the state. Interested candidates need to apply for GUJCET 2022 for admission in programmes such as BE/B.Tech, B.Pharma etc. The application form for the test will most probably be released in the 4th week of January 2022. Before going for the online form, candidates must go through the eligibility criteria laid by the board. The entrance exam will be held in offline mode where the candidates will be provided with a question booklet and an OMR answer sheet to mark the answers. The total duration of the exam will be 3 hours.

GUJCET 2022- Highlights

  • Only online applications will be considered a valid application. The authority won’t release any printed form for submission in this regard.
  • Candidates must possess a valid email id and phone number in order to register for the exam. Moreover, the authority will communicate to the candidates via these medium only.
  • Selection of the candidates will purely be done on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the entrance exam.
  • Candidates need to pay the mandatory application fee for the exam. The application fee is non-refundable.
  • Selected candidates will undergo the counselling process where a seat will be allocated to them.

GUJCET 2022 Syllabus

Candidates need to prepare for the exam as per the syllabus specified for class 11th and 12th respectively. They are required to study Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology to score better marks in the exam. Here are some of the topics they need to prepare for the exam-

  • Mathematics: Complex numbers, limit, matrices determinants, permutation & combination, probability, sets, relations & functions, theory of equations, definite integration, indefinite integration, three dimensional geometry etc.
  • Chemistry: Solid State, f block elements, complex salts or co-ordination compound, general principles and processes of isolation of elements, p-block elements, halo alkanes and halo arenes, alcohols, phenols and ethers, solutions, aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids, organic compounds containing nitrogen, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, surface chemistry, biomolecules, polymers etc.
  • Physics: Electric charge & electric field, electromagnetic induction, alternating current, electromagnetic waves, ray optics, wave optics, dual nature of radiation & matter, atoms, nucleus, semi-conductor electronics, communication system, electrostatic potential & capacitance, current electricity, magnetic effect of electric current, magnetism & matter.

Preparation tips

Candidates can go through the tips given below to gain better marks in the entrance test-

  1. Make a daily routine and follow it religiously.
  2. Start from the basic concepts and then slowly move for the complex ones.
  3. It is better to prepare NCERTs thoroughly to understand the core concepts and logic behind them.
  4. Solve mock tests to know the area where improvement is needed.
  5. Do not waste unnecessary time on social media or on mobile phone. You can however, watch video lectures on YouTube.

GUJCET 2022 Application form

The application form for GUJCET 2022 entrance will be released in the 4th week of January 2022 on the official website i.e. www.gujcet.gseb.org. Candidates need to register themselves for the exam by providing their email id, phone number, and date of birth. After successful registration, they need to fill the application form. The form will bear the following details- name, father’s name, religion, gender, address, educational details and other relevant details.

The information provided by the candidates should match their official records. If at any stage, the details given by the applicants are found to be incorrect then such candidates will be disqualified from taking the exam. Applicants must pay the necessary fee for the exam failing which their application form will end up getting rejected by the authority.

Application fee

Candidates need to pay Rs. 300/- towards the payment of application fee. The payment can be made through net banking, debit card and credit card or using E-Challan of SBI bank. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

GUJCET 2022 Eligibility criteria

Candidates can ensure their eligibility status from the criteria provided below-

  • Nationality and domicile: Candidates must be an Indian national and should belong to the state of Gujarat. Residents of Gujarat living outside of Gujarat can also apply.
  • Educational qualification: Applicants should have passed class 12th exam or its equivalent from a recognized board with minimum 45% (40% marks for reserved category candidates) aggregate marks. Those appearing in class 12th may also apply for the entrance exam.

Admit card

  • The authority will release the admit card for GUJCET 2022 on its website in the 2nd week of April 2022.
  • Candidates need to download the online admit card and keep a printout of the same for further use.
  • No admit card shall be sent to the candidates through post, email or any other mode.
  • Candidates must bring the admit card and a valid govt. Id proof to the exam venue failing which they won’t be allowed to appear in the exam.

Result and Counselling

  • Candidates can check the result of GUJCET 2022 examination on their official website i.e. gujcet.gseb.org.
  • Students will be shortlisted for admission based on their performance in the exam.
  • The authority will publish a merit list of the shortlisted candidates intimating them about the counselling procedure.
  • Candidates selected will have to fill their choices of college and course during the counselling process.
  • After closing of the counselling session, candidates will be allotted a seat based on various factors like- merit rank, choice opted during counselling, seat availability and fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates are required to report to the allotted college to complete admission related formalities.
