About IPU CET 2020 Details

IPU CET or Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test. Indraprastha University offers admission to the various Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is a state university, located in Delhi and was established in the year 1998.

IPU CET 2020 will be conducted for diploma holders and B.Sc. graduates seeking lateral entry admission to B.Tech programmes in Indraprastha University. Meanwhile, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University does not conduct CET for admission to the B.Tech programme, and the candidates get admission through IPU CET counselling.

IPU CET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

IPU CET 2020 Btech admission details are mentioned below:

  • To apply for IPU CET B. Tech 2020 a candidate needs to fulfil the eligibility criteria.
  • The eligibility or qualification for B.Tech regular admission and B.Tech lateral entry are different.
  • Here, candidates could check the eligibility criteria of Indraprastha University B.Tech admission and then fill the application form.

NOTE:  Specially-abled like the blind (including colour blind), deaf and/or dumb candidates are not eligible for admission in these courses.

IPU CET 2020 B.Tech eligibility criteria is mentioned below:

B.Tech

  • Candidate should have passed class 12 examination from a recognized board with a minimum of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and should have passed English as a subject of study (core/ elective/ functional) in the qualifying examination.
  • Candidate must have appeared in JEE Main Paper 1 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) and the admission procedure would be based on the merit list/rank list.

B.Tech (Biotechnology)

  • Candidate should have passed Class 12 examination with a minimum of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology/Biotechnology.
  • Candidate must have appeared in the IPU CET and their name should be in the merit list/rank list.

Lateral Entry B.Tech (Diploma)

  • Candidate should have passed in three years diploma in the relevant subject with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Candidate must have appeared in the IPU CET and their name should be in the merit list/rank list.

Lateral Entry B.Tech (B.Sc.)

  • Candidates should pass B.Sc. with Mathematics as a subject scoring a minimum of 60% marks from any recognized University.
  • Candidate must have appeared in the IPU CET and their name should be in the merit list/rank list.

IPU CET 2020 Application Form

IPU CET 2020 application form for all the courses can be filled online. Candidates can visit the official website of IPU. To fill the online application form follow the given steps.

  • The candidates have to fill the application form by providing personal / general and professional information along with payment details.
  • They then have to upload the scanned copies of desired documents.
  • Candidates are advised to verify the details they have provided in the application form and then check the declaration box.
  • After filling the application form and verifying the provided details, candidates then have to submit the application form and are instructed to note their User ID & Password for future.
  • Once the form is filled, checked and all the required documents are uploaded, the candidate then have to pay the application fee, Rs. 1000 which can be paid through Credit Card / Debit Card / Net-Banking.
  • After successful transaction of fee, course details along with transaction ID will be displayed.
  • Candidates are advised to take the printout of this page for further admission requirements.

IPU CET 2020 Exam Pattern

The exam will be conducted in offline mode and in OMR format. If the candidate does not mark any option then, no marks are deducted. If in any case, if a student has marked more than one option, it is treated as an incorrect response. So, one mark will be deducted.

Marking Scheme:

  • Plus four or 4 marks are rewarded for every correct answer
  • Minus one or -1 will be deducted for every wrong answer

IPU CET 2020 Counselling

For the courses for which CET is being conducted, the university prepares a separate inter-se-merit list. The final admission is based on the counselling conducted at the university level based on the score in IPU CET.

There is an online counselling process for B.Tech, B.Tech (Lateral Entry), BBA, BCA, MBA, MCA, LL.B, B.Ed (except for B.Ed (Spl. Edu.)), BJMC & B.Com (H) courses while for rest of the courses, the students have to attend the offline counselling.
