PSEB Class 10th Result 2020: Punjab Board

Punjab School Examination Board has finally released the results of the candidates who appeared for this examination in March 2020. They have released the scores of the students on 29th of May 2020. Along with 10th board results, 5th and 8th class results are also declared by PSEB.

Students are promoted on the basis of internal assessment and their pre board results. Due to the pandemic and lockdown imposed by the central government, all the exams were cancelled in March. Captain Amarinder Singh who is the chief minister of Punjab, announced this decision on May 8 2020 on the official twitter account of PSEB.

For Punjab School Examination Board. About 3.17 lakh students appeared. It was earlier decided to held 10th board exams and 12th board exams from 17th of March 2020 to 13th of April 2020. However, it got postponed by the Punjab School Education Board to the first week of April and later, they cancelled all the exams of 5th and 8th class exams along with board exams for class 10 and class 12. Punjab chief minister, Captain Amarinder Singh announced on 8th of May 2020 that all the students of class 5 and class 8 will be promoted to the next class while class 10 exam results will be declared on the basis of their pre board results. As a result, this year PSEB got 100% result in 10th board exam 2020.

Last year, results were declared on 8th of May 2019 and exams were conducted from 1st of March to 20th of March. Around 4.5 lakh students appeared for PSEB 10th board exams 2019 and the overall pass percentage for PSEB 10th board exam results 2019 was 85.56%.

However, for 2019 10th board exam, the candidate needed 33% in each subject in order to get pass. This year also passing criteria is same as of last year. This year also, student needs minimum 33% in each subject then only he/she will be declared as passed by the Punjab School Examination Board.

State government has also decided to provide merit students 150 Rs per month which means they will get 1800 Rs per year. This amount will be given to those students who have secured merit position in PSEB 10th Board Exam 2020. Students can avail of this scholarship for two years only. However, students will not be able to apply for any other scholarship after applying for this one.

How to download PSEB 10th Board Results 2020

Candidates can follow the following instructions to check their marksheet online

  • Go to the official website of PSEB 10th board http://www.pseb.ac.in/Results
  • Search for the link which states Matriculation Exam Result March 2020
  • Click on that tab and enter all your credentials like roll number and submit all the information.
  • Your PSEB 10th board exam result will appear on your screen. Check all the marks obtained and the other details.
  • Download your marksheet and take out a printout for further use.
  • Candidates can contact their respective schools for the official hardcopy of their marksheet which will be provided to them after some days of declaring the results.

What if you misplaced your hall ticket and forgot your roll number?

Punjab School Examination Board has also given the facility to check out your result using your names in case you have forgotten your hall ticket number.

  • You just have to enter your name in the login space which will be provided on the official website of Punjab Board.
  • By submitting your name, several other names which are similar to yours will also appear on the screen.
  • You have to click on their respective name in order to get the result.

Re-evaluation and re-checking process for PSEB 10th Board Exam 2020

If any student is dissatisfied regarding his/her result of PSEB 10th Board Exam 2020, then they can go for re-checking or re-evaluating process but thereafter they will have to accept the re-evaluated scores. To go for this process, the candidate has to file an official application to avail of this facility. The candidate also has to pay some amount of fees to the PSEB for the same. After re-checking or re-evaluating process, student will get the freshly calculated scores if there is any change in his/her marksheet.
